Hey friend,
Just letting you know that Playgroup starts back this Thursday (18 April) at 9.30am. Here are a couple of dates for the diary:
Thursday 25 April - ANZAC Day Public Holiday - there will be NO playgroup this week. Please pass this onto any irregular email checkers so they know!
Thursday 9 May - Mother’s Day celebration with a special craft by our lovely Sally Brown. (FYI - Mother’s Day is Sunday 12 May this year).
Thursday 27 June - Last week of Playgroup for Term 2.

sent me this podcast on friendship in motherhood. The entire series is excellent 👌Love this from
I do understand his point. A collection of baby teeth gives serious hoarder vibes.
Still, I want to make it make sense. I want to explain to my husband how, with every passing day that I am a mother, I feel the joy and the pain of letting go in a thousand, tiny increments.
I want to tell him how, as a mother, I live daily in the space between joy and grief. I want to tell him how, with every passing landmark of their childhood, I feel a little more disoriented. I keep pulling out the map, trying to locate where we are.
“The Prairie Woman of Shame is the imaginary badass prairie woman who lives in my mind. Think Caroline Ingalls + Kirsten from American Girl’s mom rolled into one superhuman. She helps on the farm all day while sewing diapers and losing her children left and right to cholera. Her life is hard! Her life is a struggle.”
Fun Things to Do
Sam Thomson and The Praise Project are releasing their EP of songs for the church to sing on 25 May. Check out this interview with Sam about his creative process, barriers, and how his faith impacts his creativity. Find out more about the free launch party here.
I’ve been making these every week. I rarely bake and these child-level easy muesli bars are perfect grab and go, healthy food for pregnant women and three-year-olds whose new favourite word is STAAAAAAARVING.
Last, I haven’t tried any of the low-free courses at Roleystone Family Centre, but Tinson has and I stand by all her recommendations. I lurked on their website the other day imagining mat leave schemes in which I become a woman who makes pottery or weaves her own baskets…
Tell me in the comments what you have planned for autumn now that it is FINALLY cooling down.
Love,
Bec
Thanks for the shout out Bec! ❤️
