Hey friends,
Parenting is hard. We all need a helping hand sometimes. We got choo boo!
The Playgroup Freezer Meal is BACK! ๐
Our freezer is now filled with family-sized portions of:
Veal and Pork Meatballs with Rigatoni and Pecorino
Yellow Chicken Drumstick Curry and Rice
Chicken Pot Pie
Maple, Sesame, and Miso Pork Noodles
Jo Moloney and a team of women from our church made these in the industrial kitchen at GBC on the weekend. They are labelled with all the ingredients, the date they were made, and reheating instructions.
The idea is that you can come to playgroup on a Thursday and grab a meal out of the freezer on those days when you're sick, the kids are sick, your husband is working late for a week straight, you're solo parenting, your teething baby decided sleep is optional, pregnancy nausea means that even the thought of cooking makes you sick, you want to cook for your friend who had a baby but youโre drowning, fill-in-the-blank-here aka you just really, really need a night off.
The meals are free. You can just take one, no questions asked.
Tell Me Moreโฆ
When you come to playgroup, walk into the church kitchen and youโll see Michelle Christie making coffees on your right, keep walking through the second door, and into the industrial kitchen. You pass the sinks on your left and at the back of the kitchen on your right-hand side, there is a large silver freezer. Open it up and take a meal. Itโs probably worth bringing a freezer bag with an ice-brick in the summer months.
How Can I Support This Glorious Freezer?
We are hoping to run the Meal Freezer year-round. So, we really need your help with the Toy Drive!
Please donate toys (Thursdays and Sunday at the church), pray for us, tell your friends, and join us Saturday 6th May for a cuppa, slice of cake and bargains!
Any questions just hit reply to this email.
Love,
Bec
